Indian start-up RAS Luxury Skincare raised $5 million in funding led by Unilever Ventures with participation by Amazon's Smbhav Venture Fund.WHO: Founded in 2017 by Shubhika Jain, Suramya Jain, and Sangeeta Jain, RAS Luxury Skincare is redefining skincare in India through its in-house, vertically integrated model. From farming ingredients to conducting R&D in-house and manufacturing the final products, RAS ensures the highest degree of quality, efficacy, sustainability, and safety, benefiting customers and the planet alike.WHY: RAS will leverage the fresh capital to expand its retail footprint, focusing on exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) and shop-in-shop retail. The company currently operates two EBOs, with 50 more Pan-India EBOs planned over the next 3 years.
